Peanut Butter & Cheese Whiz?...

Right now there’s a jar of Cheese Whiz in the fridge. I didn’t buy it - my sister-in-law gave it to my husband at Christmas. He loves the stuff, and I think its smell alone is enough to make one heave.

My husband’s determined to be more independent when it comes to making his own lunch. Although he doesn’t cook… at all. So I am rarely surprised at what he calls lunch - usually peanut butter and jelly right out of the jar. Yes, one spoon, and they are his jars (they aren’t used for anything but is own tasting). I’ve seen him stomach quite a few nasty things over the years, so I really didn’t think he could surprise me again, but alas, he did.

When I walked into the kitchen, the smell alone made me take a u-turn, as I could tell what he was biting into. That’s right, a flour tortilla filled with nothing but peanut butter and Cheese Whiz. I nearly hurled right then, right there. As he continued to laugh and reoffer me a bite, I thought that maybe this once it was truly a guy thing, and I was just being, well, me.

But when I reported to a few male friends my husband’s fare, they reaffirmed my own thoughts - mixing peanut butter and Cheese Whiz is just plain wrong.

I don’t care if that peanut butter is a deep, golden brown, or if Cheese Whiz is considered “food.” I’m just grateful that glass jar loaded with yellow sauce only graces our house but once a year.
